President’s Calendar

Action Checklist for President of SRVRWF 

Every Month 

  • President’s message for Elephant Ears (Inspiration, Motivation, Issue Oriented)

  • Agenda for Board of Director’s Meeting

  • Agenda for General Member Meeting 

  • Decide who will sit at President’s table along with Speaker and invite them ahead (day before) 

  • Usually good to have Speaker sit between President and Introducer of Speaker ● Other suggestions: Any ‘elected’, other Club Presidents, special guests, officers, Central Committee Chairman 

  • Luncheon people should do the following: (You could instruct all Elec Board members about this and ask them all to be aware and take initiative to do these things)

    • Get to Club by 11am 

    • Make sure flag is in place (Always to the right of lectern) 

    • Make sure the microphone works 

    • Help President put any papers on tables 

    • Help greet and introduce any guests, VIP’s 

Publicize CFRW to general membership and encourage them to attend and learn.

We get Achievement Award points if the President attends certain CFRW events. 

Bay Area CFRW Regional Presidents' Meetings 

  • You might want to get back-up to attend these (Liz Summer loves to go to them) 

January Board Meeting 

  • Set calendar for entire year 

  • Decide if you will have any evening meetings and when 

  • Have info on Leadership Conference’s and get announcements out in Elephant Ears to all members. 

  • Instruct Treasurer to prepare CFRW required dues checks and contributions

  • Plan big “Membership Meeting” or “Membership Drive” Start planning for “Picture”

  • Membership Directory to be finished for distribution in April; Set up committee to help Membership VP

January General Meeting 

  • Elect any remaining Executive Board Members 

April Board Meeting 

  • Directory should be near completion. 

April General Meeting 

  • Directory should be available to Members, per Bylaws (also, per Achievement Award form) 

May Board Meeting 

  • Board elects Chairman of Nomination Committee 

  • Brainstorms names of General Members to be nominated to Nominating Committee ● Set Wreaths Across America date 

  • Danville 4th of July entry??? 

May General Meeting 

  • President makes sure there are others to be nominated from the floor for the Nominating Committee. 

  • President holds the Election of Nominating Committee members. 

June Board Meeting 

  • President makes sure the Parliamentarian convenes the Nominating Committee, according to Bylaws. 

September Board Meeting 

  • Preliminary report of Nominating Committee 

  • Determine “Barbara Olson” tribute 

  • Perhaps put something about her in the Elephant Ears 

September General Meeting 

  • The “Barbara Olson Memorial Meeting” 

October Board Meeting 

  • Final report of Nominating Committee 

  • Publish in Elephant Ears

October General Meeting 

  • President holds an election of Officers, including asking if there are any nominations from the floor. 

November Board Meeting 

  • Get January speaker lined up for next year, if not already done. Election years: Think about a candidate debate. 

  • Set date for “Old Board/New Board” Luncheon 

  • Arrange for Installation of Officers by someone acceptable or wanted by the President. 

November General Meeting 

  • Installation of Elected Officers. Having it done by a CFRW official, gets Diamond Award points. 

December Board Meeting 

  • President appoints Appointed Board members for the following year.

  • President hosts “Old Board/New Board” potluck luncheon. 

  • At this luncheon, President announces the January Executive Board Meeting, Date/Time/Location 

  • At this luncheon, President announces the next year’s Budget Meeting, Date/Time/Location 

    • Per Standing Rules: Budget Chairman is the elected Treasurer. Members include the President or Past President and President-elect, 3rd VP Ways & Means
